Casey Haag

vMeet Casey Haag! She's a Triple major - Political Science, Arabic, Middle Eastern and North African Studies who is anticipating to graduate in 2022!

How have you stayed focused during this pandemic?

Because of the pandemic and with school and many jobs being online, opportunities have become available to me that would have been previously unattainable. For example, I am interning with a nonprofit in Washington DC that most likely would have been in-person if not for the pandemic. This is something positive that has come out of the pandemic for me, and its opportunities like these that keep me motivated.

What are things you like to do at home?

I love cooking and baking, and this love has only increased throughout the pandemic!

What are your hobbies?

Cooking and baking, reading, learning languages, gardening, and collecting rocks and gems.

What is your favorite UA memory?

 My first interaction with someone from UA was my adviser. He was so welcoming and was truly interested in my academic life and future. As a worried incoming transfer, this was just the interaction I needed to feel good about what I was doing. The rest is history, but that interaction was the first of many positive and inclusive discussions that I have had at UA.

What is your advice for other students?

Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way and don't be scared to ask for help.
