Teejay Brown currently serves as Assistant Director for Persistence, Completion, and Wellness with the Thrive Center at the University of Arizona and Virtual Counselor for Northern Virginia Community College. His primary areas of responsibility at the University of Arizona include oversight of a dynamic team charged with the following areas: academic intervention, transfer student support, wellness (holistic student development and financial wellness) initiatives, and supporting low-income UA students and students who have experienced the foster care system and/or homelessness. He previously served as Assistant Director for Student Support and Program Director for the Student Transition Empowerment Program at George Mason University. His areas of experience include counseling, academic advising, coaching, the first year experience, identity development, student leadership, retention initiatives, cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, multicultural education and cultural competency training and development. Teejay is currently pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision with minors in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Arizona.
