Spring 2025 Transfer Student Guide Application

The Transfer Student Center's mission is to cultivate an inclusive environment for students who have transferred to the University of Arizona (UA), and guide transfer students as they gain academic and life skills through connections to resources and community.

We are looking to hire a motivated student who wants to join our team of Transfer Student Guides (TSG). This work includes supporting current and prospective transfer students visiting the TSC and participating in our programming. For more information, please see the job descriptions below.

Transfer Student Guide Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for a position in the Transfer Center, you must have completed at least one semester of coursework before spring 2025 (you are eligible if fall 2024 is your first semester at the U of A), but two semesters of completed coursework is preferred, AND you must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher from the University of Arizona by the end of the fall 2024 semester.  You are also expected to maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher during your employment with Thrive Center. 

We prefer to hire students with federal work-study, but if you do not have work-study, or are not eligible to apply for federal financial aid, you are still eligible to earn a position.

TIME & PAY

$15.50/hr | up to 15hrs/week

All Thrive Center positions pay $15.50 per hour and are for up to 15 hours per week for the academic year.

Timeline

  • Application will close on Sunday, Nov. 17th at 11:59 PM.
  • Interviews will take place between Nov. 20th & Dec. 6th.
  • Our preferred start date is Dec. 9th to allow for training before winter break, but the start date may be delayed until after winter closure.
